We have a problem with parking and cars going far too fast, and in a lot of cases it is mum's rushing to school. It is only a matter of time before their is a serious incident. x Sadie

After years of opening up the school grounds, my child’s primary school recently erected 1.8m perimeter fences and electric gates as a ‘child protection’ measure. It now resembles a secure unit. I, and many other parents felt this money would have been better spent on a decent traffic controls outside the school. Likelihood of children being abducted from within school grounds: minimal. Number of children at risk from traffic: significant.

in Germany they have got it right as the speed limits are 20mph in all residental, 30mph in less residental areas. so where ever the children are walking they are a lot safer the crossings are brilliant it is a very pedestrian and cyclist orientated country and the uk could learn from some of there systems.

I wish to make a crossing in Crewe safer for hundreds of children who have to use this junction (Flag Lane junction) it has no safe crossing, as soon as one row of traffic lights goes to Red, the opposite lights go to Green, add on top drivers who go through Red Lights, it is highly dangerous I have been contacting the local council for 12 months but no improvements or communications has been recieved. I am trying to make an appointment with my local MP. Litterally hundreds of pedestrians have to navigate across this road daily at all times nevermind busy school run periods, my child and his friends can not walk school alone because of the lack of safety around this area.
